According to data from the year 2024, The percentage of passes in Selectivity was almost 92%. For this reason, although the percentage is high, it does not take into account the number of students who do not manage to achieve the access grade to the degree they want, and this is the real problem.
Alternatives in case of suspending the Selectivity
If you have already received your grades and have you calculated your grade, (Seeing that you can't access the degree you want), or you've pre-registered for university and received a rejection, don't worry. There are several solutions:
1 – Increase grade. There are two exam sessions throughout the year. If the ordinary session has not gone as you expected, you have a second chance, taking the exams of the extraordinary session. The problem is that the quotas for university degrees may have been filled, but in the following points we will tell you how to solve this problem. For these exams, Escuela PCE have the COU, a specific course to take with maximum guarantees.
2 - Do a university degree the first year to "advance" credits and validate the approved subjects when we have entered the grade we want. If you got a good grade in September but you don't get a place since there are no places, it may be a good option to start a degree that is a bit similar to the one we want and then apply for access and continue with our study. In this way, in the second year we will be in the career we want and we have not thrown a year "in the trash", but rather we have invested our time in obtaining credits and passing subjects to validate them later.
3 – Get a university degree from UNED. If you have passed the Selectivity but it does not give you the grade to access the degree you want, the Spanish Distance University has many studies with no limit on places. That is, there is no cut-off mark.
4 – Make a Higher Degree. Qualified professionals are increasingly needed, and in many cases, Higher Degrees are more accepted in the world of work than university graduates. They are courses that last 2 years and have a large number of hours of practice, which makes them ideal for any company that wants to recruit qualified personnel.
5 – Prepare for the PCE the following year. Maybe we have not passed because we have not dedicated ourselves to studying and we have basic problems. The best thing would be to dedicate at least a few months to be better prepared with a more methodical and more extensive study. From Escuela PCE we PCE Course which begin in September to gradually see the complete content of the subjects.
6 - If you passed in September but did not receive the grade, it may be good to wait a year and apply for a place in June. Throughout this year you can work and save to get money for college or take a language course to delve deeper into something that will be useful for the future.
Conclusion
Not getting access to the degree and university we want is part of this path. If due to poor preparation, luck, nerves, delivery of documentation or other reasons, we cannot access one of the places that are offered each year to study in Spain, we want you to know that, first, we are empathetic and we know how you should feel, and Second, there are solutions. Changing countries, educational systems and so on is not easy. The average time to get access is 2 years (if you prepare it with a Escuela PCE You will be able to shorten the deadlines, given their specialization), so later in time you will have opportunities to repeat the exams, or, as we indicated in this post, carry out other studies and activities until that new test. Work has its reward, and we are sure that if you work and prepare with determination and perseverance you will be able to access a Spanish university.

Is it possible to enter the university in Murcia by registering in the extraordinary phase?, given that pre-registration is in July, but the test is in September, so there is a long period between places and it is assumed that July will not be possible. If I have to deliver any document that proves that I will give in September?
It is complicated, since there are usually no places for September reserved for PCE students.
