✅ Advantages of applying in September

Applying for the extraordinary exam can be a very beneficial strategy. Here's why:

  1. You can improve your grade without risking lowering it. UNEDasiss always uses the better grades between exam sessions, so September is a perfect opportunity to improve your grade without negative consequences.
  2. The UNEDasiss credential is valid for 2 years. Even if you don't get into university in 2026, you can use your grades in 2027 without repeating exams.
  3. You can take advantage of two opportunities in the same year. If you did poorly in the regular exam or failed to prepare, September saves you from waiting a whole year.
  4. It allows exams to be spread out to reduce workload. Many students take some subjects in May/June and others in September to improve their results.
  5. It's easier to resume studying. If you took the exam in June, you'll have the material fresh in your mind and you'll progress faster than if you leave it for next year.

❌ Disadvantages of the extraordinary call

It's not all sunshine and roses. There are negative aspects too:

  1. There are hardly any openings in the grades. Most degree programs are already full after the regular application period. This means that even if you get an excellent score, you won't be able to get into a public university in 2026, as another student will have already applied for a place in June.
  2. We need to studyThis may seem obvious, but improving your grade requires preparation and dedication. If you're not prepared to dedicate time to studying, it's best not to apply.
  3. It costs money. Although the amount is smaller, you will still have to pay the exam fees.

⭐ Is it a good idea to apply in September?

Although the regular call for applications is always the best option due to available places, the extraordinary call is a excellent alternative For those who need extra time, are looking to improve their grades, or were unable to apply earlier. And remember: although there may be fewer places available in September (or none at all), your credential will remain valid throughout. two full coursesTherefore, you will be able to access the following year without repeating exams if your grade is sufficient.

  1. In September, can I submit only the subjects I failed, or do I have to submit them all like in June?

    • You can submit as many as you want, both those you failed and those you want to improve your grade on.

  2. Hello, I have a question!!!
I have applied for two subjects in the extraordinary session of the PCE: business and art history.
The thing is, I'm sure I've improved my grade in Business Administration, but in Art History I might get a lower grade than I did in the May exam.
UNED will always take into account the highest grade... that is, in art history will they take into account my grade from the ordinary call since it's the one I got the highest grade...?
And will the company take into account the grade for the extraordinary that I improved there?

  3. Hello, I have a question. I'm taking the PCE exams this week, but honestly, I'm not prepared for some subjects and I know I won't pass them. So, I have two questions:
    1. What happens if I don't show up for the exam?
    2. I should have taken the exam during the extraordinary session. Do I have to pay for it again?

    • Hello Carla. If you don't take the exam, your grade will be considered a fail, meaning it won't contribute anything to your score. Regarding the price, yes, you'll have to pay it again, but there will be administrative fees, so you won't pay the same (it'll be a little less). If you need preparation, please contact us. Best regards.

  4. Hey.
My daughter took the May exam with 4 subjects: technical drawing, art history, English and artistic drawing. Of these 4 subjects, she passed 2: English and Artistic Drawing, and she lacked the score to obtain a place.
He wants to appear in September to take an exam in Technical Drawing, Art History, and English to improve his grade. If you manage to pass these courses and improve your grade, what depends on whether you can get a place for this year? From the grade you obtain or from the availability of vacancies?

    • For this year, the availability of vacancies and the Autonomous Community. However, it is always good to improve your grade in September, since waiting until next year would mean submitting everything again...September being the ones required. All the best.

  5. Hello, I understand that I can give the September PCE to enter a University that same month, but to pre-register for the University I want they ask me for the PCE already completed, so that's where my confusion comes in, could you help me? 🙁

    • Hello Matías. In some universities you cannot enter in September, but the idea is to already have a valid grade for next year, in case it is not possible. All the best.

  6. Hello! How true is it that the grade you get in the extraordinary exam is not the final grade for that subject, but instead they average the grade you get in the ordinary exam with the grade you get in the extraordinary exam and that is the final grade

    Reply
    • It isn't true. The grade from the extraordinary phase, if it is better, is taken into account over the grade presented in the ordinary phase.

      • Good Morning !
I am one of the students who took the PCE tests last May. I took the exam in 4 subjects (Mathematics, Chemistry, English and Biology) of which I only passed 2 (English and Biology), so I have the intention of taking the exam in September to pass the other two (Mathematics and Chemistry), so my The question is: since I got a good grade in English and Biology, how can I keep my English and Biology grades from May so that they can be added together with math and chemistry once I have passed the latter two in September?

My second question is: How can I make my request to appear in September, since when I applied in May it was through a managing entity and now I want to do it autonomously?
