If you are thinking about studying at a Spanish university, don't miss the following post where we are going to explain the requirements and steps you have to take to enter the faculty you want. We will explain to you, on the one hand, the academic requirements, and, on the other, the general requirements to be able to study in Spain.
How to study in Spain as a Costa Rican
To be able to study at a university in Spain, you need to follow 7 steps if you have a Costa Rican passport:
- Finish high school.
- Apostille the high school diploma.
- Validate your high school diploma. You can do this in Spain, at its immigration offices or Ministry of Education, or from the Spanish Consulate in San José, although we recommend that you visit LegalSpain Agency to process it more quickly.
- Study the necessary subjects for the exams. In this case, no one better than us, Escuela PCE, to ensure your access to Spanish universities.
- Sign up for the PCE UNEDasiss Selectivity exams.
- Take the PCE UNEDasiss Selectivity.
- Make university pre-registration.
Easy, right? Escuela PCE can help you with your homologation and all subsequent processes. We will advise you on choosing subjects, guide you in decisions, prepare you for exams and explain how to carry out your university pre-registration. Trust the leading academy to prepare your landing in Europe.
Legal requirements for students from Costa Rica
Once we have seen the steps, we are going to indicate the general requirements that you must meet if you are a student. You should know that these are broad requirements, so, once you have made your decision to study in Spain, consult the Spanish consulate that will provide you with all the official information in force for that specific moment.
- Valid passport.
- Acceptance letter from the entity or university.
- Reservation of the passage to Spain.
- Taking out travel insurance.
- Apply for a study visa. This is something we want to explain to you well. If you are going to stay less than 3 months, a visa is not necessary. If you are going to be there (as is normal for a study) longer than that date, you will have to apply for a study visa at the Spanish consulate in your city. To do this you will have to prove that you have been accepted into the academic center or university, providing the registration and the money deposited for said course. Escuela PCE can help you make your university entry easier, saving you costs. Since we are a specialized online academy, we can prepare you while you are in Costa Rica, without having to come to Spain. We will take care of all the processes, explaining the classes, registering you for the exams that you would take… in San José! Once you have taken the exams, the subsequent university pre-registration and received the notification that you have been accepted at a university, you can apply for a student visa through the certificate that the destination university will issue you. This will allow you to save on housing, food, transportation, travel to Spain, documentation…etc. Ask us about this and we will explain it to you personally with one of our coordinators.
- Be free of criminal record.
- Medical certificate.
- Proof that you have means of subsistence for the requested period and to guarantee return (consult with the Spanish consulate to check the official financial requirements in the year of the application).
- Indicate residence during the period indicated on the visa.
You can consult all this at the Spanish Consulate in San José
