Requirements of public universities 2025

We have summarized in the table below all the services requested by Spanish public universities, organized by autonomous regions. We tell you what each of the criteria means:

  • Admission criteria. This reflects the main characteristic to overcome.
  • Qualification for admission. How to calculate the final admission grade. Some universities opt for the UNEDasiss system, others for the Spanish system and others for their own system.
  • High school modality. Basic requirement for some regions. It is a specific configuration of the subject and its improvement that grants such criteria.
  • Test type. There are 2 types, PCE and EBAU. The PCE form is normally with 4 subjects, being 4, 5 or 6 for EBAU. In essence, it is knowing whether universities "copy" the style of the Selectivity for Spaniards (EBAU) or if they prefer the UNEDasiss system (PCE).
  • Language accreditation (Spanish). Requirement requested only for students who do not have nationality from a Spanish-speaking country.

  2. Hello, I took the ordinary PCE exams, my cut-off mark was higher than the degree I wanted. Even though the PCE exams weren't approved, do I still have to take the extraordinary exam or what should I do?

    • Hi Ana. It's possible you won't get a place in this exam session because you haven't passed any. It depends on the degree you want to pursue and the university, but it will be very difficult. Get in touch with us so we can tell you how the improvement process will work for September. Best regards.

  3. Hello, what does "UNEDASSIS" accreditation without requirements mean? Like what they require in Valencia, for example. How can I obtain it? And another question: if I fail the PCE, is it impossible to enter any public university? Thank you.

    • Regarding your question, I recommend speaking directly with UNEDasiss. As an official entity, but very briefly and as simply as possible, you can submit PCE subjects with the structure you "want" as long as they are relevant to your degree.

If your grade is higher than the cut-off grade for the degree you wish to study, you will be eligible for admission.

      All the best

  4. Hello, for the University of Granada, do I have to take the PCE tests according to the EVAU structure or how?

    • Hi Ana. It depends on the university. Some do, others don't. Where do you want to study?

  5. Hello! For the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, I should only enter the PAU (Pau) first and then only apply for the PCE (PCe). I'm about to apply, but I'm afraid I won't enter the correct ones, and the university is giving me the runaround.

  7. Hello
I studied high school in Brazil, but I have Spanish and Brazilian nationality. Do I need to obtain language accreditation to enter a university in Galicia?

    • Hello good.
I'm studying high school in Mexico. I'm expected to finish in June 2026. I have dual nationality, Spanish and Mexican. I want to study medicine at a university in Castile and León. Which one do you recommend? Besides obtaining the apostille and homologation of my high school diploma, what's the next step? I see I have to take an exam. Is it online and when would it be?
Forgive my ignorance on the subject, but I'm a little lost.
      regards

      • Hello Susana. To study in Spain, you must begin the homologation and apostille process and, at the same time, begin studying for the PCE exams, which will be held in June. You can take these exams in Mexico or in another city around the world with a UNEDasiss office. If you wish, contact us and we will help you. Best regards.
